Stewart Lee - Snowflake/Tornado

John Mackay in association with Debi Allen / Curtis Brown present

STEWART LEE
SNOWFLAKE / TORNADO

Double-bill of two new 60 minute sets, back to back nightly from “the world’s greatest living stand-up” (Times). Including new material for 2022.

The first half, Snowflake, will be heavily rewritten in the light of the two years the show has been laid off, looking at how the Covid-Brexit era has impacted on the culture war between lovely snowflakes and horrible people.

The second half, Tornado, questions Stew’s position in the comedy marketplace after Netflix mistakenly listed his show as “reports of sharks falling from the skies are on the rise again. Nobody on the Eastern Seaboard is safe.”

“Lee remains one of the best stand-ups in the country” ★★★★★ Metro

“The world’s best living stand-up comedian” Dominic Maxwell, The Times

“There’s no-one else to touch him,” Mark Wareham, Mail On Sunday ★★★★★

“He makes stand-up almost a moral pursuit, … that makes the usual (and more popular) stand-ups seem crude and obvious.” Alan Bennet, London Review Of Books.

“Proper, vicious prejudice - a self-proclaimed inhabitant of the moral high ground” Sarah Vine, Daily Mail

“A pot-bellied Bernard Manning for snowflakes” Tony Parsons, The Sun

“If I could bring one extinct thing back to life it would be Stewart Lee’s sense of humour.”  Frankie Boyle, BBC2

“Rib-bustingly hilarious.” The Times

Mr Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound…

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most celebrated adventure gets a brilliantly farcical overhaul in Lotte Wakeham’s acclaimed production.

World-renowned detective Sherlock Holmes and his colleague Dr Watson are asked to unravel the mystery surrounding the untimely death of Sir Charles Baskerville.

Theatre Re: Bluebelle
Bluebelle
A journey into the wilderness of parenthood

If you see a bluebell, pick it, ring it three times and repeat the following words:
'Bluebell, bluebell, fairy flower, I beckon your greatest power’.
Then, place it near your heart and the Bluebell Fairy will come to you.

Long ago and far away a King and Queen were placed under a spell. Fertility was disrupted. They called the Bluebell Fairy, but magic comes at a cost and woe betide those who do not keep their promises.

Weaving together plots, objects and characters from ancient folktales collected by Angela Carter, Italo Calvino, the Brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault, as well as interviews with parents and carers, Bluebelle reminds us that life is shaped by the stories we tell and leave behind.

Through Theatre Re's signature style combining visually striking poetic theatre and lyrical live music, Bluebelle is a wondrous and mysterious tale about life and how to protect it.

Extended Play: Donuts

Three friends are getting ready for a night out. The music is intoxicating, they start to
dance. It’s so good, they might stay a little longer…

Inspired by classic sitcoms of the 90s & 00s, DONUTS follows a group of friends as
their friendship evolves over time. DONUTS is a celebration of how music brings
people together, no matter what life throws at them. Bursting with precision and soul,
it is a hypnotic and playful ‘groove along’ to jazz and funk.

Drawing on his own relationship with music and its influence on his friendships
growing up, choreographer Jamaal Burkmar places music at the heart of his
creative process. DONUTS is the first, highly anticipated, full length dance piece
from the company behind JUKEBOX, the breakthrough Instagram series combining
popular music with their distinctive and dynamic style of dance.

Kattam Katti – Pagrav Dance Company

Kattam Katti (meaning Cutting Through in English) is an exquisite piece of modern dance theatre rooted in the Indian Kathak dance tradition. There are eight performers - four dancers and four musicians. The musicians play specially composed music live and are integral to the show as they move around the dancers and interact with them.

The show transports its audience to Uttarayan, the world-famous kite festival that takes place in Gujarat, North India. Tales of competition, danger, excitement and unity are vividly brought to life in a joyous, colourful and uplifting show.

This neo classical work has a distinctly contemporary feel developed out of the South Asian dance tradition. Tapping into the chaos, creativity and colour of the kite festival, Kattam Katti brings to life the excitement of Uttarayan with lyricism, drama and exquisite technique. It illustrates the highs, lows, loves and losses of lives that are lived out among the festivities.

The show is suitable for all ages and backgrounds and runs for 60 minutes with no interval.

Choreographed by Urja Desai Thakore (BBC Young Dancer choreographer) and based on her personal observations of the festival and Gujarati heritage, kite flying becomes a metaphor for the inequalities of privilege in societies and in the corporate world.
Kattam Katti is performed by a new generation of British dancers of Indian heritage. Pagrav Dance Company is highly committed to nurturing the next generation by providing a supportive platform for emerging dancers.

‘a striking and exquisite work, Kattam Katti is the antidote we all need in the current climate’
Maya Pinder, The Insanity in Dancing on an early sharing

‘a work of lightness that rides the wind-soaked eddies; the crack team of musicians combine to elevate the work to a higher realm’ Ian Abbott, author, curator, academic on an early sharing

‘Pagrav Dance Theatre's latest show Kattam Katti is rich and beautifully layered, and is sure to engage both new and existing audiences. The interplay between dance, music and narrative is deftly woven and perfectly balanced, and the brilliantly designed piece is engaging, moving and playful.’

Milton Jones in Milton: Impossible
One man. One Mission. Is it possible? No, not really.
Milton reveals the truth about being an international spy, before being given a disappointing new identity which forced him to appear on Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo.
But this is also a love story with the twist, or at least a really bad sprain.
Just gloriously daft nonsense or is there a deeper meaning? Every man has his price. Sainsburys, where good food costs less.

Ahir Shah: Live

Double Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Ahir Shah returns to stand-up with a new show about significance, insignificance, and scurvy. Featuring his signature blend of philosophical inquiry, personal examination, and sweet gags, Live promises to be the single greatest work of art ever named after a probably apocryphal quote from Prime Minister Harold Macmillan.

Ahir’s last show, Dots, was recorded as a special for HBO Max (albeit after a 14 month delay brought about by events you may recall). That show was about uncertainty. Ideally, this tour will end in a way that is less on the nose.

As seen on Mock The Week, Live At the Apollo, Have I Got News For You, and The Mash Report.

The Chosen Haram

Something that is “Haram” is forbidden by Islam. The Chosen Haram explores themes of faith, sexuality, addiction and human connection. Blending exquisite Chinese pole skills with visual and physical theatre and a pumping soundtrack, it tells the story of two queer men, their chance meeting through a dating app and the social, cultural and personal barriers they desire to overcome (in seeking happiness and fulfilment). The show is based on a combination of the lead artist’s personal experience as well as interviews with members of the LGBTQ+ community who identify as (ex) Muslim. It aims to highlight the personal struggles faced by people whose upbringing contradicts their personal truths and how this can lead to self-destructive behaviours. It aims to foster understanding of the issues faced by LGBTQ+ (ex) Muslims as well as celebrate their resilience. Lead artist Sadiq Ali is originally from Edinburgh and trained at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London; this is his first full-length piece.

As You Like It
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Laurie Sansom
Designed by E.M. Parry

In their 30th anniversary production, Northern Broadsides bring their bold, refreshing style to Shakespeare’s most musical and much-loved comedy for the very first time.

In a stylish but stifling court, where the Duke is all powerful and brute strength is championed over basic human decency, the high-spirited Rosalind and devoted cousin Celia are no longer welcome. When they escape into the forest in disguise, they bump into the recent object of Rosalind’s affection, Orlando, leading to an elaborate game of fluid identity where all the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.

As the seasons change in this magical place, normal roles dissolve and assumptions are turned on their head in this celebration of the transformative power of love and the natural world, featuring some of Shakespeare’s most vivid characters and memorable poetry. With a cast of 12 fabulous Northern actors, Northern Broadsides take to the road once more in a production by Laurie Sansom which captures the sheer joy of live performance and the crazy power of love to change the world.

Atlas

Oddly Moving present Atlas
Produced by Turtle Key Arts

Atlas was punished by the Gods to hold the weight of the cosmos for a long time -
perhaps an eternity. He’s not sure if he is a man or a mountain or a giant. His back
hurts. He wonders what would happen if he just let go.

Oddly Moving’s new show explores the Greek myth of Atlas interwoven with
personal stories about the metaphorical weight we each bear or let go of. Addressing
themes of choice, responsibility and the individual worlds that define us.

Directed by Charlotte Mooney of Ockham’s Razor and with Oddly Moving’s unique
blend of physical theatre, autobiographical storytelling and circus skills (with a
rudimentary understanding of physics) Atlas looks at how we each bear the weight of
our personal burdens, our what-ifs, joys, regrets and choices and asks what happens
if we let go?

and connector, lighting up the entire stage.” LucyLovesCircus

Opera North - Rigoletto

RIGOLETTO

Music Giuseppe Verdi
Libretto Francesco Maria Piave
First performance Venice, 1851

New production

Rigoletto exists on the margins of a world owned by the privileged few – and is despised by them for his difference. He is in the pay of the Duke of Mantua, a man who is living proof that absolute power corrupts absolutely. Twisted inside by the life he has been forced to lead, Rigoletto is both feared for his sharp tongue and ridiculed for his appearance by the Duke’s entourage. The only thing he lives for is his daughter, Gilda, of whom he is obsessively protective. When, finally, a combination of bitterness and bravura get the better of him, the consequences for his most precious possession are fatal.

Verdi clothes this hard-hitting masterpiece in some of his most impassioned music. Rigoletto contains one of the most popular tenor arias of all time – the Duke’s ‘La donna è mobile – but the jauntiness of the tune takes on a much more chilling aspect in the context of a drama which explores the extremes of emotional exploitation.

This new production of Rigoletto is conducted by Opera North’s Music Director Garry Walker, and directed by one of the UK’s leading theatre artists, Femi Elufowoju Jr., who makes his opera directing debut. American baritone Eric Greene, whose previous work for Opera North includes Amonasro in Aida and Billy Bigelow in Carousel, sings the title role in a work of shattering power.

It's Hot It's Not

Why is it that sometimes I’m hot but you’re cold? Why are there puddles and sometimes not? How can it be sunny and rainy all at once and also not at all? And if it’s summer here, why is it winter there?

This surreal, funny and carefully crafted physical performance explores the weather in all its forms and takes delight in discovering the world anew and how we experience it differently, wherever we are.

Opera North - Carmen (2022)

CARMEN

Music Georges Bizet
Libretto Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy
First performance Paris, 1875

New production

Bizet’s masterpiece of sexual obsession and self-destruction is enduringly popular for many reasons, not the least of which is its brilliantly characterful score. It’s the story of a woman on the margins of society, driven by a fierce, uncompromising desire for personal liberty, and of a man who, in the grip of sexual obsession, tries to own her.

The opera’s frank sensuality, stark emotional realism and brutal violence outraged many in its first audiences, and it was widely condemned for its perceived immorality. Almost 150 years later, Carmen presents new challenges to contemporary sensibilities, whilst Bizet’s music – overflowing with passion, colour, energy and unforgettable melody – continues to mesmerise.

Edward Dick directs our first Carmen in ten years following his triumphant Tosca for the Company in 2018.

‘The production’s real strengths … lie in Dick’s understanding of the psychological dynamics between the protagonists … It’s compelling stuff, disquieting, creepy and exciting in equal measure.’ Tim Ashley, The Guardian, on Tosca, 2018

ALCINA

Music George Frideric Handel
Libretto Anon.
First performance London, 1735

New production

On an island paradise, a young man, Ruggiero, has fallen under the spell of a woman, Alcina, who is experiencing real love for the very first time. But on Alcina’s island nothing is as it seems, for she is an enchantress who transforms her discarded lovers into non-human form, and her island is a barren wasteland whose apparent beauty is maintained only by her powers of illusion. When Bradamante, Ruggiero’s fiancée, arrives on the island intent on reclaiming her lost love, Alcina’s magic is tested to breaking point.

This extraordinary tale of deception and disguise, of love and loss, of enchantment and illusion, is told in some of Handel’s most richly inventive music, such as Ruggiero’s regretful farewell to the beauty of Alcina’s island, ‘Verdi prati’.

Our first ever production of one of Handel’s most popular operas is directed by Tim Albery, responsible for a sumptuous revival of Giulio Cesare for Opera North in 2019. It reunites him with Baroque specialist Laurence Cummings, who led the Company’s highly acclaimed production of Monteverdi’s The Coronation of Poppea in 2014.

A Tale of Two Cities

If you’ve never read Dickens’ 1859 novel of revolution and excessive gestures of love, then this is the
show for you. If you have read it, this might also be the show for you, depending on how well you
remember it.

Dickens left a lot out of his novel, particularly when it comes to Lucie, the central female
character. She was underwritten, all her psychological complexity left on the cutting room
floor. This show picks up those offcuts and sticks them together, possibly in the wrong order, to
rediscover the real story of this complex, troubled, funny 21st century woman.

From the creators of Paradise Lost (lies unopened beside me) and Juliet & Romeo, comes a re-staging
of one of the bestselling novels of all time (allegedly). Part dance, part theatre, part fictionalised
documentary, no-part costume drama, this is Lost Dog’s nearly unrecognisable re-imagining of a
classic.

Animal Farm

The Children’s Theatre Partnership presents
Animal Farm
By George Orwell
Adapted and directed by Robert Icke

The animals of Manor Farm drive out the farmer and run the farm themselves. A revolution. And then what? Then freedom. Every animal will be free.

Old Major, the prize boar, calls the animals of Manor Farm together. He has had a strange dream of a better future.

George Orwell’s world-famous fable tells the story of a revolution and its aftermath. Re-imagined by an award-winning creative team, Animal Farm is a dynamic, daring and contemporary take on a timeless story.

Animal Farm is directed by Robert Icke, whose version of 1984 (co-adapted and directed with Duncan Macmillan) was a smash-hit in the West End and on Broadway; features puppetry designed by Toby Olie (whose credits include War Horse) and designed by four-time Olivier award-winner Bunny Christie.

David Hoyle: Ten Commandments

Following smash-hit Diamond, David Hoyle returns to The Lowry with Ten Commandments, combining his captivating stage performance with lacerating social commentary. Rioting the wrongs of contemporary Britain, Ten Commandments promises to rebalance all the inequities and injustices that surround us.

In this light-hearted antidote to the rat-infested dystopia in which we currently find ourselves, David returns the Garden of Eden to its natural state free from nuclear weapons, landfills and perpetual burning forests. We welcome the congregation to liberate themselves and others in a thermonuclear explosion of love and also hope for what remains of the 21st century.

“He is raw, sometimes a bit frightening, but also thrilling in his look-no-hands recklessness.” – The Guardian on David Hoyle’s Magazine

“There is nothing quite like it: bold and unique, electrifying and disarmingly humane.” – Time Out

Sheila’s Island

The Office meets Lord of the Flies meets Miranda.

Sheila’s Islandis a sparkling, sharp-witted new comedy from writer
Tim Firth (Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots, The Band), starring Olivier Award winner Sara Crowe
(Private Lives, Calendar Girls, Four Weddings and a Funeral), and Judy Flynn (The Brittas Empire, Dinnerladies).

Bonfire night 2019, Sheila, Denise, Julie, and Fay are Team C in Pennine Mineral Water Ltd.’s annual outward bound team-building weekend. Somehow, Sheila has been nominated team leader, and, using her cryptic
crossword solving skills, has unwittingly stranded her team on
an island in the Lake District. Our intrepid heroines find themselves manufacturing weapons from cable ties and spatulas, and create a rescue flag with plastic plates and a toasting fork.

Questions are asked; truths are told; dirty washing is aired.

Is it possible to build an adequate night shelter with a prom dress and a sleeveless jumper? What is Julie’s husband
really up to in Aldi? And why are they on this bloody team building exercise when they could be at a spa?

Nothing Happens (Twice)

After an exciting few years making and touring shows all over the world, Mercè and Patricia have somehow lost momentum and hit rock bottom. They always knew that making theatre would be difficult, but when they have to dress up as flamingos in a shopping centre to make ends meet, they seriously consider giving up.

Can their shared dream of staging Waiting for Godot get them back on track or will their long held ambition be strangled by red tape? A hilarious and sometimes moving exploration of companionship, co-dependency and what motivates us to keep going, even in the face of failure and bureaucratic brick walls.

Sam needs to step up.

With two children looking to him for guidance, it’s high-time he evolved into the role model he always thought he’d be. But he didn’t sleep well last night and being a hero is harder than it looks. Plus, he forgot to put the bins out and now his wife hates him.

In this side-splitting new stand-up show, Sam explores what it means to be a role model in modern Britain, how the people he looked up to shaped his world, and how the struggle to help his kids find their moral compass often causes him to misplace his own.

Can you be a role model on four hours sleep?
Can you mentor someone who thinks you’re a moron?
And how do you change the world if you can’t even clean your kitchen?

JULIAN CLARY

BORN TO MINCE

‘Are you ready for some filth? I know I am. Time once again for me to sally forth and pleasure the provinces with my particular brand of saucy innuendo. Let me at them!’

In this outrageously camp show, (that he was going to call Bed Knobs and Knee Pads but was advised might not sell too well in Harrogate), renowned homosexual Julian Clary will bare his soul as never before in the interests of light entertainment.

He’ll murder some well known songs along the way, no doubt, read you a sneak preview from his next memoir A Night At the Lubricant and make withering remarks about punters foolish enough to sit in the front row. You know the kind of thing. It’s the only life he knows. Don’t miss out.

This might well be the final mince…

We Got This is the brand new show from BAFTA and Perrier award winning comedian Dylan Moran.  It promises to be a joyously furious romp through the frustration and folly of modern day life.

Praise for Dylan Moran:

    The Independent

“He's punch-drunk, pissed off and sick of it all, but determined to at least wring as much black humour out of proceedings”

     The Telegraph
“Trumping Shakespeare, he reduces life to four ages: “Child, failure, old and dead”. Faced with one-liners as killing as that the world suddenly seems a better place.”

     The Guardian
“His comedy takes on an existential dimension, as tubby, nicotine-starved, emasculated Moran comes to represent the struggles we all wage for meaning and connection”

     Evening Standard
“High-octane riffs from Irish master of grumpiness…spellbinding”

     The Times
“In his heightened ideas and vocabulary, Moran compulsively swerves clichés as he builds up layers of laughs… funny and fascinating, and utterly deserving of his place in the modern classics'

Candoco – Set/Reset & Last Shelter

Candoco Dance Company returns to the stage with a double bill from two
boundary-breaking New York based choreographers.

The evening begins with Set and Reset/Reset, a recreation of Trisha Brown
Dance Company’s seminal Set and Reset. The dancers move with dream-like
fluidity within a kaleidoscopic form to a driving Laurie Anderson score in their
unique version of Trisha Brown’s choreography.

In contrast, Jeanine Durning’s Last Shelter unfolds uniquely at each
performance. Teetering at the edge of what could be in an ever-shifting
environment, this choreography highlights the velocity and precision of each
dancer’s decision-making from moment to moment, somewhere between
agency and collective will. After a year of working invisibly through a
pandemic, it is an act of intimacy to witness the labour and desire of the
dancer attending to themselves and one another, in their practice.

Distinct in form, these works share the vitality and virtuosity that promises an
unforgettable double bill from the company that continues to expand
perceptions of what dance can be.

Simply Dylan

John O'Connell’s Simply Dylan Band will be back in 2021 for a brand-new headline tour across the UK to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 80th Birthday.

As straightforward as the title suggests: no frills, no gimmicks, no pretense; Simply Dylan is John’s personal exploration and celebration of the rich and diverse work of Bob Dylan.
O'Connell, formerly of Groundpig, has had his name indelibly written into the tapestry of Liverpool's music scene, has collaborated with other highly reputable musicians to form his Dylan Band.

The combination of the band delivering high energy renditions of the prodigious songwriter’s work and John skillfully singing and enunciating the lyrics,
has seen the project go from recognising Dylan's 70th Birthday, to selling out the Cavern Club 6 times, to receiving fantastic reviews from audiences across
the UK and most recently having the privilege to open up the Isle of Wight Festival in 2019 on the big top stage.

“It is incredible to consider that Dylan has been writing and performing for some 6 decades and continues to do so right up to the present day.
The talent he has for story-telling and developing a song is extraordinary. My greatest challenge is deciphering a set-list when there is so much choice and an array
of genres to select from; after all everyone has their own personal favourite!”

How did we get here? How do we find our way through this? And exactly who are we again?

In this new show, Strictly Come Dancing’s newest star tries to see a way through the weird unreality of our new world.   Tracing lines through chaotic moments in our past, Bill seeks out parallels where human resilience and our ability to endure has got us through times of strife.

He recounts his own experiences of dealing with isolation, including his thoughts on the ‘sounds of lockdown’. Through music, songs, and memories, Bill considers (among many other things!) our changing priorities, the wonder of dogs, how little things can keep you on track and his new-found love of skydiving.

EN ROUTE TO NORMAL is not just a funny, heartwarming mix of stories, music and history, but a personal mission to chart a course through these Strange Days!

Steve Harley Acoustic Band
Widely considered one of the most charismatic performers on stage, Steve Harley continues to play to sold-out venues across the UK and Europe.
For Steve, life on the road is more than just a job: it is almost his life’s blood.

And with the February 2020 release of the all-acoustic CD, “UNCOVERED”, the original Cockney Rebel shows no sign of slowing down.
The Acoustic Band for 2020 will find Steve supported by long-standing violinist/guitarist Barry Wickens, Oli Hayhurst on double bass, with Dave Delarre on lead guitar.

Steve has been playing Live shows around the world for over 45 years and the thrill of another night in another place to another audience has not dimmed at all.

“We have real adventures on tour, “says Steve. “I’ve seen the Northern Lights, the Midnight Sun and dozens of wonderful galleries, museums and great cities, all on my down-time. I have a great life as a Wandering Minstrel!”

“UNCOVERED” includes a re-recording of Steve’s own highly-esteemed song “Love, Compared With You” with a newly composed third verse, plus his thus-far unrecorded “Only You”, and nine other songs he’s always wanted to perform. The album features Barry Wickens on viola and acoustic guitar, Oli Hayhurst on double bass, Tom Hooper on percussion and the Roots Music Legend, Martin Simpson, on guitar. Steve also sings a duet with the amazing Scottish singer, Eddi Reader.

The acoustic sets for 2020 will include songs from the new CD, plus a selection from the vast and eclectic Harley Songbook. Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Sebastian and the legendary Make Me Smile will all be re-produced in the unique acoustic style.
Close-Up Culture stated: “It was an intimate night in the presence of a great musician. An individual whose passion for live performance and perfection (it shows in his face) remains undiminished.”

Rod Stewart, who covered Steve’s song “A Friend For Life”, describes him as “One of the finest lyricists Britain has produced.”
MOJO said simply, “Harley creates rock songs that are proud, lyrical and full of yearning.”  Steve has also been described as “A consummate performer at the top of his game,” and this show will bear that out.

Steve received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Acoustic Music from the Acoustic Festival of Britain in 2018.

The Dublin Legends
“Alive-Alive Oh!”

Following the sudden death of founding member Barney McKenna in 2012 and John Sheahans’ decision to retire it was agreed that The Dubliners, as a touring band, would come to an end and THE DUBLIN LEGENDS were born.

THE DUBLIN LEGENDS, Sean Cannon, Paul Watchorn, Gerry O’Connor & Shay Kavanagh, have over 100 years of performing experience between them and Sean was the lead singer with The Dubliners for over 30 of them! They will, of course, continue to play all the classic songs and ballads known the world over; Whiskey in The Jar, Dirty Old Town, The Wild Rover, Seven Drunken Nights, The Rare Auld Times, Molly Malone, The Irish Rover, Black Velvet Band & many more.

In 2017 guitarist and founder, Eamonn Campbell, passed away while they were on tour in Holland. Even though he had been in poor health it was still a massive shock. The lads asked an old friend, Shay Kavanagh, if he would like to come on the road with them and, thankfully, Shay readily agreed. Shay is a stalwart of the Irish Folk Music scene. He was a founding member of General Humbert with the great Mary Black and has played with The Dublin City Ramblers for many years.

It was Eamonn’s wish that the band continue touring and finish off recording the album they had been working on. This is a follow-up to “The Dublin Sessions” which featured 16 newly recorded tracks and included some old favourites & classics that the lads wanted to get down on disc…The Leaving of Liverpool, Schooldays Over, Pub with No Beer, Rambling Rover, Hand Me Down My Bible and some scorching tunes from Gerry O’Connor: Billy in The Low Ground / The Temperance Reel

In the past seven years the band have continued the legacy of The Dubliners by travelling far and wide playing concerts to a whole new generation of Irish music fans. They have wowed audiences in Iceland, Norway, Finland, The Faroe Islands, Sweden, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland and all over England, Scotland & Wales.
This band are the REAL DEAL so make sure you join THE DUBLIN LEGENDS on their 2019 UK Tour for a night full of songs and stories and the odd pint of Guinness!

Catherine Bohart: This Isn’t For You

Catherine Bohart loves control, hates change and is a serial planner. It’s been an interesting couple of years…

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice

One of Britain’s greatest modern plays, The Rise & Fall of Little Voice, is embarking on a UK Tour next year. The Olivier Award-Winning comedy-drama from Jim Cartwright has earned international acclaim across the globe, including a Golden Globe winning smash-hit film starring Jane Horrocks and Michael Caine.

Meet Little Voice and Mari Hoff. A mother and daughter central to the heart of this Northern fairy-tale, but as far apart in character as can be. Little Voice leads a quiet and unassuming life, seeking companionship and joy from music’s most iconic singers, whilst Mari prefers the sound of her own voice, indulging in a life of booze, cheap thrills and seedy men. Left to her own devices, LV starts to embody the famous divas she plays on repeat, swapping the grey backstreets of Northern England for the bright lights of Hollywood and Broadway, all from the safety of her own bedroom. When Mari starts dating small-time club owner Ray Say, LV’sastonishing impersonations of Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland to name a few, are thrust into the spotlight. Transformed and sensational, LV might just be Ray’s one and only chance to hit the big time, but what will the consequences be for mother and daughter?

Starring TV favorite Shobna Gulati (Coronation Street, Dinnerladies, Loose Women), British soap royalty Ian Kelsey (Emmerdale, Casualty) and ‘the girl of a thousand voices’ and two-time Drama Desk Award Nominee Christina Bianco, as Little Voice.
Cartwright’s timeless and iconic tale explores the highs and the lows of small-town dreams, family
rivalry and finding your voice in a noisy world.

With humour, heart and countless powerhouse ballads all performed live on stage, featuring music from Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Billie Holliday and many more, this life-affirming production will rouse even the weariest of souls.

Ashley Blaker – 6.5 Children

So Comedy & Broken Robot Productions by arrangement with Vivienne Clore presents

ASHLEY BLAKER: 6.5 CHILDREN

On the back of his BBC Radio 4 series, Ashley Blaker: 6.5 Children is hitting the road in 2022!

The show brings a whole new perspective to the subject of parenting. That is because as parents of six children, Ashley and his wife are trying to raise a family in a world that is only really set up for having two. What is more, the Blakers’ children are not just any kids. Three have special needs – two autistic boys and an adopted girl with Down Syndrome – and Ashley sensitively finds the funny in both raising children with disabilities and adoption.

Ashley Blaker is an internationally acclaimed comedian, seen and heard on TV and radio across the world. He has performed on five continents including tours of the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Israel and Australia.

Following multiple sell out shows throughout the UK, 2018 saw Ashley make both his Off-Broadway and Edinburgh Fringe debut seasons, both receiving acclaim and playing to capacity audiences. In 2020 he returned to New York with ‘Goy Friendly’ which ran at the prestigious SoHo Playhouse.

An Evening with The Hollies - 60th Anniversary tour 2022

60TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2022

One of the most iconic bands in British music, The Hollies, have moved  their UK tour originally scheduled for Autumn 2021 to next year, in order to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

The band said:

‘We felt like this is something no other band gets to do, celebrate six decades together, 60 years of these songs that mean so much to us and so many others.

We’re incredibly excited performing for everyone on what will be some of the most special shows in the history of The Hollies.’

All previously purchased tickets are still valid for the new dates.

Famed for their soaring, distinctive melodies and brilliantly crafted songs, the 60th anniversary tour will see The Hollies performing their best known hits including ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother’, ‘The Air That I Breathe’, ‘Long Cool Woman (In A Black Dress)’, ‘Bus Stop’, ‘Carrie-Anne’ and ‘Sorry Suzanne’.

The extensive tour will begin in Birmingham on 22nd May, and will include two shows at the legendary London Palladium, before finishing at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on 21st June.

The line-up includes powerhouse drummer Bobby Elliott, and singer, songwriter, and lead guitarist Tony Hicks, both of whom are original members of the band. They are joined by lead singer Peter Howarth, as well as bass player Ray Stiles, Keyboardist Ian Parker, and Steve Lauri on Rhythm Guitar.

Celebrated as one of the most influential bands from the 1960s British Invasion era alongside the likes of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, the Hollies have had over 20 world-wide hits, including number one singles in both the US and UK. They have spent an astonishing 263 weeks in the UK top 40 official singles chart, and have been performing continuously since their formation in 1962.

Their cultivated musicianship, coupled with the Hollies’ extensive back catalogue of memorable rock ‘n’ roll tunes, has ensured the longevity of one of the greatest groups to emerge from the early 1960’s British Rock Revolution.

In 1995, they were bestowed the coveted Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution To British Music, and in 2010 were inducted into the American Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame for their ‘impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of Rock and Roll’.

VIP packages also available including meet and greet with the band, photo opportunity, a signed photo and VIP laminate.

be obligated to watch her die so she doesn’t have to do it alone? Can she start a GoFundMe
page to get a golden tomb built for single people to get buried in together, or do we all just get
thrown into a mass grave and covered in cat hair? When a man on a dating app identifies as
'spiritual', is it safe to assume he has the personality of a spoon? If you do all your drinking in

Help I Sexted My Boss

THE HIT COMEDY PODCAST IS BACK ON THE ROAD IN SUMMER 2022 WITH A BRAND-NEW SHOW

Following their recent sold-out UK tour, the creative duo behind hilarious and much-loved podcast Help I Sexted My Boss, William Hanson and Jordan North, have announced a nationwide UK and Ireland tour for summer 2022.

William Hanson and Jordan North are unlikely best friends. William's a posh etiquette expert, and Jordan's an expert in all things common. In their hit comedy podcast, Help I Sexted My Boss, their worlds collide as they help you navigate the everyday problems of modern life.

Jordan North hosts the flagship drive time show with Vick Hope on BBC Radio 1. He has recently been back on ITV screens with Beverley Callard his co star on I'm A Celebrity's in Destination Wedding. His years of practice in the industry mean that he is now very good at talking for large periods of time. Those words are often more easily relatable than those spoken by his opposite number.

William Hanson teaches etiquette. He travels the world teaching people how to behave at every possible social or diplomatic occasion. From royal families to leading business people to feral TV personalities, William has refined them all. Now his biggest challenge comes in the form of his good friend Jordan North.

This Christmas William and Jordan have introduced their very own Help I Sexted My Boss advent calendar, releasing daily episodes up until the big day! Subscribe now. Not only that, but the boys have also released their very own cocktail, their favoured Gin & Dubonnet in collaboration with The Bottled Bartender, available here

Fran Lebowitz

In a cultural landscape filled with endless pundits and talking heads, Fran Lebowitz stands out as one of our most insightful social commentators.

An American original and purveyor of urban cool, the cultural satirist and author is pointed, forthright, unapologetically opinionated, and known for her hilariously dry social commentary on American life. Lebowitz’s recent Netflix documentary series directed by good friend Martin Scorsese, Pretend It’s A City, was an unmitigated hit with its offering of a tantalizing snapshot of New York in full bloom, along with Lebowitz’s lively and unapologetic commentary on what it means to live there.

For a limited run of dates, Lebowitz will be live in conversation, sharing her invariably cutting take on anything and everything; from growing up in New Jersey and being expelled from her high school for being a bad influence on her peers, to moving to New York City in the 70’s, and writing a column for Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine. She’ll offers insights on such timely issues as gender, race, gay rights, and the media, as well as on her own pet peeves—including celebrity culture, tourists, and baby strollers.

These events promise to be a balm in a wildly shifting world, offering spot-on observations about contemporary living and the opportunity to ask Lebowitz your own controversial questions. Do not miss it.

Rob Bell – Everything is Spiritual

A new guide to science, art, sex and death from the New York Times bestselling
author of Love Wins

In Everything is Spiritual, the author Rob Bell explores how ideas about creation, love and connection
shaped him and how they shape every one of us. Bell observes that more than anything, people want to
understand their purpose here on earth. And when you embrace who and where you come from, including
your wounds, your pains and your regrets, you will discover that lurking there in the mess of life is an
invitation to expand - just as the universe has been expanding for 13 billion years.

Written in a lyrical, almost stream of consciousness style this wide-ranging book shares stories from Bell's
life to illuminate lessons about the world around you to help you find purpose, meaning and connection.

'Rob Bell might have left the church, but he will always be my minister - in the purest and most uncorrupted
sense of that word. Nobody else can take ancient teachings and modern science, and blend them together
into wisdom that makes sense to me, and heals me. Rob's unorthodox and bold thinking stirs my
intellect, comforts my heart and makes me believe that - within all the frightening chaos of the unknowable
universe - I still have a sacred place. His work is a sacred gift to a troubled world.’

Elizabeth Gilbert, New York Times bestselling author of Big Magic

Rob Bell is the New York Times bestselling author of ten books, including Velvet Elvis, Drops Like
Stars and Love Wins, which have been translated into 25 languages. His podcast, called RobCast, was in the
iTunes 'Best of 2015' list. He's toured with Oprah, has been profiled in The New Yorker, and in
2011, TIME magazine named him one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
He does regular shows at Largo, a comedy and music club in Los Angeles, where he lives with his wife

Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical

The true story of the world’s most unlikely buoy-band.

When a group of Cornish fisherman come together to sing the traditional sea shanties they’d sung for generations, they hoped to raise a few quid for charity. Nobody, least of all them, expected the story to end on the Pyramid stage of Glastonbury…

FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS is a brand-new musical based on the true story of the Cornish singing sensations, and the hit 2019 film.

A group of fishermen are spotted by a fish-out-of-water music manager on a trip from London, who must learn there is more to life then selling your sole for fifteen minutes of fame.

Packed with more musical treats than you can fit in a lobster pot, this is a feel-good voyage about friendship, community and music which smashed box office records when it premiered in Cornwall in Autumn 2021. So climb aboard, find your sea legs and allow yourself to fall for this critically acclaimed musical, hook, line and sinker.

[Directed by James Grieve and with a book by Amanda Whittington, Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical features choreography by Olivier Award nominee Matt Cole, Set and Costume Design by Lucy Osborne, Lighting Design by Johanna Town, Sound Design by Dan Samson, Casting by Jim Arnold and musical supervision by David White.]

Martin Bayfield’s Rugby Legends

From the police beat to the Hollywood movie screen to a Five Nations Grand Slam and MasterChef final, Martin Bayfield has had a varied life!

Join former England international and true giant of the game Martin Bayfield as he embarks on his ‘Rugby Legends’ UK tour.
Martin says,
“This is the game I want to celebrate. The game of my youth, the game that became my family, the game that took me around the world and opened the door to so many unexpected wonders.
If you’ve played the game, you’ll nod your head and chuckle. If Rugby is new to you, you’ll shake your head in disbelief. It shouldn’t work, but it does, and that’s why I love it so much.
Joining me on this journey down Amnesia Avenue will be some great names from the game. Players who have made their mark, but perhaps more importantly players who for me have added the colour and the chaos.”

Bedford 1975: a 5’4” 8-year-old Martin was finding himself useless at every sport he tried, describing his attempts at football as “woefully poor” and cricket “dangerously poor”, but swimming? “I was good at that. Slightly niche, but I’ll take it”!  It would all change when a coach threw an odd-shaped ball accompanied by the wise words, “Hey, shorty, you’ll like this game”.

47 years on and Martin’s passion for the ‘insanely bonkers’ game has not diminished; now a top commentator for the sport with a successful TV and film career alongside motivational speaking work, he still relishes his playing career during the early years of the game, when internationals ran out alongside the club stalwarts and legends rubbed shoulders with the well-meaning incompetent.

The audience can expect stories with soon to be announced special guests about international games, local teams; legends emerging from coal mines, farms, police stations, classrooms, universities. Matches played on 6” of grass, mud in the winter, hard pan in the autumn and spring months.  Riotous end of season tours and half cooked lasagne or chilli con carne after the game washed down with beer, then the long, meandering journey home.

Clinton Baptiste – Clinton vs Ramone

As featured in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights…it’s Clinton Baptiste - and his arch psychic enemy Ramone from the massively popular Clinton Baptiste’s Paranormal Podcast

Communicating with the Afterlife?  What could be more mind expanding?!

The public are rightly hypnotised by mere mortals with extra-sensoryability and Britain is honoured to have spawned two of the most gifted mystics in the world, the coiffured titans of the Unknown - Clinton Baptiste and Ramone Tamine.

Clinton Baptiste is the notorious clairvoyant medium psychic who bravely tells the punters what the spirits are saying… whether the recipient is willing to hear the bald truth or not. Ramone is a Scottish soothsayer and spirit-channeller from the Caledonian cabaret circuit. His expertise in the Dark Arts is surpassed only in the dexterity of his cutting Glaswegian bitchiness.

Their otherworldly skills have rightly attracted audiences all over the world, but now their very public spats are threatening to undermine them. Even the Parapsychological Institute of Great Britain feel that these two silly fakirs are bringing the serious subject of Mediumship into disrepute.

Repeated requests to desist the slander have fallen on deaf ears.  Both claim to be the one true mystical seer.

Buckle up for a battle of charisma, verbal one up-manship and hair raising paranormal wizardry as the two megastars meet to finally decide who holds the title as Britain’s Greatest Paranormalist.

The rancorous badinage will propel one of them onto the canvas…..and the other into the hallowed pages of the supernatural history books!

The show is for ages 14+.

Alongside her hugely popular BBC investigative series, in which she covered a diverse range of topics from across the world, the documentary maker and author of the Sunday Times bestseller, On the Frontline with the Women Who Fight Back, is also the presenter of BBC1's This Is My House; BBC2’s DNA; Glow Up for BBC3, and W's Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over – and lest we forget, our 2018 Strictly champion.

Following several sell-out UK tours, Stacey is heading back on the road to celebrate the publication of her new book, which explores the mental health crisis in Britain and its particular impact on young people, inspired by Stacey’s two most recent documentaries on mental health.

In conversation for these limited events, Stacey will open up the conversation about mental health in young people, to challenge the stigma and stereotypes around it. Having worked in collaboration with mental health experts and charities, Stacey will responsibly share the stories of young people in the UK directly affected by mental health issues, in order to shine a light on life on the mental health frontline and give a voice to young people throughout the UK who are living with mental health conditions across the spectrum.

Join her for what promises to be a thought-provoking, inspiring and informative evening. With a chance to try your own hand at journalism and ask Stacey the questions, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

3D Character Sculpture Workshop

Design and sculpt your own character. In this one day workshop we will show you how to design, draw and make your own 3D character sculpture. This could be a fantasy character inspired by animals, nature, films, books or any idea that you've always wanted to develop. No experience  is necessary and by the end of the course you will have a design that you could work from to further inspire your own illustrations or animations

Half Day Workshops 10am - 12pm / 1pm - 3pm.
